The 10th generation plasma panel has a 5000:1 contrast ratio and 4096 shades of gradation for a phenomenal picture.
Picture is only part of the experience. You need great sound to truly immerse yourself in the viewing experience. Panasonic built in a four-speaker 31W sound system. The woofers have a 55Hz-200Hz response for deep lows while the tweeters handle everything from 200Hz to 17kHz. The BBE ViVA HD3D sound system delivers a surround sound experience without having to run speaker wires all over the room.
Eleven inputs allow you to attach all of your video playback equipment and game consoles. There are 2 HDMI, 2 component, 3 S-Video and 3 composite video inputs as well as a D-Sub input. Each of the inputs has its own audio input so you don't have to worry about sharing or swapping cables. There is also an optical audio out to send the audio signal to your home theater system.
Full HD 1080p With a maximum resolution of 1920x1080 (16:9), the widescreen Panasonic TH50PZ700U fully supports up to HDTV 1080p (1920x1080, progressive) for a truly high-definition experience.
HDMI Input The Panasonic TH50PZ700U features two HDMI inputs to receive high-definition digital video and audio through a single, convenient cable connection. HDMI's appeal has made it the choice interface for a broad selection of HD-capable video devices and gaming consoles.
Built-in ATSC Tuner Armed with a built-in ATSC tuner, the Panasonic TH50PZ700U displays digital over-the-air programming without additional digital set-top equipment.
Ultra-high 5000:1 Contrast Ratio With an amazing 5000:1 contrast ratio, the Panasonic TH50PZ700U provides accurate color reproduction and displays every scene in drop-dead gorgeous detail.
One-Touch Playback With the EZ Sync HDAVI Control feature, operate all your home theater components at the press of a single button on your Panasonic TH50PZ700U's remote control.

Cons: Heavy, beeps when it goes from regular channel to HD no big deal
Overall Review: Neweggs the best internet service out there, I use then for all my computer and electronic needs, this company is fast and their customer service is outstanding! Off point here people must have alot of time to not even buy this tv from newegg come here and post please people get a life, I hardly have time to post, but wanted to because this tvs outstanding
Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: Great Picture, Super dark Blacks, Nice size. overall great TV Picked up HD and digital channels that i don't even pay for on it.
Cons: Very heavy, picture looks somewhat faded in a bright lite room, but is amazingly bright in the dark. Puts off some heat.
Overall Review: Have yet to see the full 1080p except at the store i got it from. And let me tell you it doesn't look like a picture it looks like an open door to real life. well worth it. just dont put it near a lot of windows cause it will make the picture look faded.
Ownership: less than 1 day
Delivered on 4/15/08 ; EXCELLENT!4/15/2008 1:45:19 PM
Pros: NOTE: My HD source is via Comcast Cable in PA and I just got the TV today 4/15- these are my first impressions and this is really just more of the long list of positive reviews. Side note- I am using HDMI from the cable box directly to the TV. Still playing with the color/sound to fine tune for my taste. Not using seperate sound system yet. Picture: HD sources- Outstanding! Standard def, so-so, it really depends on the channel/source of what is being broadcast. Some are great, some stink. Again, that is standard with any Plasma, the beauty and the big bang is in HD viewing. Normal DVD (not HD/Blue Ray)- Outstanding as well. Again, the source of the programming is the key.
Cons: This is HEAVY. I moved it around on my own, but most definitely recruit some help. Not possible to mount this on a wall by yourself, unless you are freakishly strong. There is a good glare, but nothing that would be a big distraction unless you can not stand a reflection of any sort. Nothing to worry about for my tastes.
Overall Review: NewEgg was great. No hidden fees or bundle pricing. New unit, out of the box. The process is a little weird with the 5 step order/approve process, but I have no complaints. Ordered on a Weds morning, arrived at my house Tuesday. Delivery guy was very nice and helpful too. No issues scheduling, no issues with damages (box was free of dings, scuffs and scratches) _ This s CR #1 choice for 50 inchers’, and highest rated plasma/lcd overall. Well worth it.
Ownership: less than 1 day
Pros: Have yet to buy a Plasma set.
Cons: None
Overall Review: How does the power consumption compare to 50' 1080p LCD set?
Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: This is an amazing TV. The same kind of plasma TVs were selling for thousands more couple of years ago. The picture is amazing, all features are easy to use, remote is very user friendly. I've connected my PS3 to it thru Onkyo receiver and watched few BlueRay movies. The picture quality and colors are excellent. The sound quality of the TV is very good as well for a small to medium size room. But I got the home theater setup so I'm not using internal audio much.
Cons: None.
Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Picture quality on this tv is simply outstanding. Price is also a plus when compared to the sony xbr5. The tv is worth every penny, especially if paired with a blu-ray player. I currently own a company that installs tv and panasonic tvs have the least breakdown rate in the market. :)
Cons: For all those who said the pc input does not support 1080p. Analog RGB connection never supported 1080p, inorder to obtain u have to use a DVI to HDMI cable. Additionaly you have to have a graphic card that supports HDCP to get the best quality.
Overall Review: I use 3 x nvidia's 8800 ultra cards in sli mode and the picture is unbelievable. Gaming or browsing internet- PS3 graphics compared to 3 sli mode is something similar to putting a snes and xbox360 next to each other.
Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: The top rated TV from CR does not disappoint...nice crisp image, fairly intuitive remote, overall a great TV choice.
Cons: This puppy is HEAVY...good Lord, get a buddy to help you haul it out of the box! This TV has a very healty appetite for power.
Overall Review: Get this TV from Newegg...these folks simply rock. From the helpful cusotmer service reps to the excellent delivery service, all at great prices...why shop anywhere else?
Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: The picture quality on this model is astounding. It is simply the best picture I have ever seen in any flat-panel TV. Panasonic also did a great job with the recessed mounting holes to allow as-close-as-possible mounting on a wall bracket.
Cons: The PC input does not support 1920x1080 resolution, so you need to use up one of your HDMI inputs to obtain this native resolution with a HTPC.
Overall Review: I wish I had purchased this set through Newegg and saved some money.
